The Nigerian Association of Refrigeration and Air conditioning Practitioners (NARAP)
The Nigerian Association of Refrigeration and Air conditioning Practitioners (NARAP) is a non-political, non-sectarian and non-governmental Organization. It was incorporated on 20th October 1993, as an umbrella Association for all categories of practitioners, Engineers, Technologists, Technicians, craft men and women and other persons producing and trading in, or practicing Refrigeration and Air-conditioning in Nigeria, encompassing all areas of profession.
ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
The Association has its National structures with Headquarters located in Lagos, and offices in the six Geo-Political zones. It also has its State Chapters, Zones in all the Local Government Areas, and Ward throughout the federation. Membership at the Ward level is mandatory for all practitioners, individuals and corporate bodies engaged in formidable management structure for effective and efficient dissemination of information and easy administration, from the Board of Trustees, National, State Chapters, Zonal Councils and Ward Executive Committee. The National president and his Executive officers are the overall overseers of day to day running of the Association, (see the Association Organogram).
OUR VISION
To establish, develop, promote and regulate Professional ethics of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Production, Trades and Practices in Nigeria.
OUR MISSION
To create awareness of Academic, Commercial and Professional responsibilities, and generate the spirit of national development amongst members.
To rank with other Refrigeration and Air-conditioning bodies in the world.
To create awareness of Technological breakthrough in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Practices.
To enhance professional responsibilities and adhere to international best practices.
To foster the spirit of comradeship for National development.
MAJOR OBJECTIVES
To motivate and assist individual old and new practitioners, commercial entrepreneur and corporate bodies.
To establish, promote and develop in the production, trade and practice of Refrigeration and Air-conditioning.
To design and institute Training Programs, Outreach Services, material research, economic ventures and all relevant infrastructures necessary in inspire higher level of production and achievement.
To work with local or foreign industries, commercial organisations, government agencies, and UN agencies to generate people and material resources for the Association and Refrigeration and Air-conditioning beneficiaries.
To develop a sense of economic security and self-pride in members, so that they may produce, trade and practice with dignity in the society.
To assist in government effort to preserve perishables where more than 75% are lost seasonally.
PROFESSIONAL TIES
Among members of the Association are professors, men and women who are in the field at various levels and have been maintaining, constructing, fabricating both industrial, commercial and domestic equipment, including ducting, chillers, boosters and cascade systems of various capacities; also improvising for parts in most of the faulty compressors being reconditioned. Multiple evaporating systems are handled with ease and put into efficient services in systems.
Some of the above members are successful production managers and Quality control Managers in the manufacturing industries in the country.
CONFIGURATION OF MEMBERS
Membership Configuration include importers, Dealers and cooling parts traders, handlers of Domestic and commercial Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Equipment, Cold room, Trucks and Trawlers, Chillers, Jet and Industrial Refrigeration, all R&A practitioners and staffs of Manufacturing companies as corporate members.
